♠ Personality: Ace is the prankster, the executor and the big brother all wrapped up into one, unique model of the D. family. He's confident, but not enough to brag about himself; he knows what he can handle and he knows his limits, despite the risks he takes and the moronic moves he makes from time to time. He is motivated purely by both honor and commitment; it is a family trait that has carried through the blood line. His honor as a pirate also mirrors that of his captain, Edward Newgate, aka Whitebeard. Ace follows a code that is strict and very much a model of the old ways; of the respectable pirate days.

However, Portgas is still a young man, and as such, he's somewhat childish. Flirtatious, slightly sinister, but a man that enjoys a little fun once in a while, he doesn't fear death. Hell, he looks death in the face, laughs, and torpedoes towards it in a brilliant mash of flames and glory, both literally and metaphorically.He is brazen, if he isn't anything else, and breaking the law comes almost as naturally as his narcoleptic tendencies.

Very rarely, will Ace be pissed off. However, when he is pissed off, it is usually for one of two reasons. Either, someone had turned against him and his captain or someone has threatened the safety of his family, most likely his little brother. Both of those things, beyond anything else, flare Ace up in more ways than one. Luffy is his beloved little brother and anyone that deals ill will towards him is likely to find an inferno licking at their heels.

And they rightfully deserved it; at least, they did in Ace's mind.

Ace is also really friendly - while he does not trust people directly off the bat, he does learn to appreciate people over time. And he likes getting to know new people, so. Yeah.
